stained glass

All roof window and skylight types can be fitted with a non-standard glazing unit incorporating stained glass. The resulting window is transformed via an individual and permanent pattern to coordinate with the distinct character of the room. A roof window with a stained-glass pane makes the interior space look exceptional – adding originality to any loft arrangement.

The stained-glass pane is created by superimposing the resin outline onto the normal surface of the pane. There are three resin colors: black, gold, and silver-satin – to mimic the lead cames of traditional stained glass. Internal spaces between the lines are filled by hand with colored resin. A wide variety of hues is achieved through a custom blend of ten different pigments. It is also possible to leave the untinted design outline on the pane. After the resin is allowed to cure for twenty-four hours, the completed stained-glass pane is assembled into the glazing unit. Any of over 200 different pre-existing patterns can be designed into a pane – or an original design can be created to suit the customer’s taste – whether directly from the customer or working with a FAKRO designer.
