light tunnel SLT

The SLT light tunnel is a completely new FAKRO product designed to bring ample natural light to every part of a property. It makes it possible to illuminate all rooms in the building, even those which cannot be fitted with roof windows or vertical windows. Dimly lit interiors such as bathrooms, dressing rooms, corridors, staircases or basements can be particularly uncomfortable to use. Thanks to the light tunnel, natural light can now be used throughout a building enhancing the user’s comfort, and saving electricity.

The SLT light tunnel channels daylight which enters the light transmitting tube through a dome mounted onto the roof. The sun’s rays are reflected off the walls of the flexible tube on to the light diffuser fitted into an internal ceiling. The diffuser spreads the light, evenly illuminating the whole interior of the room. The light tunnel may also be used at night by installing a light kit.

Features:

  • light tunnel consists of the following parts: dome, light transmitting tube, prismatic and transparent diffuser and ceiling frame;
  • flexible light transmitting tube allows easy fitting around any constructional obstacles therefore reducing the cost and time of installation;

  • specially prepared flashings guarantee tightness and ease of fitting;

  • light tunnels are suitable for roofs with pitches between 15 - 60 degrees or for flat roofs (available to order);

  • there are two types of flashings available; for flat and profiled roofing materials - must be ordered separately;

  • light tunnels are covered by a seven-year warranty.

light tunnel SRT

The SRT light tunnel’s main role is the same as the SLT light tunnel’s supplying the interior with the proper amount of natural light. The SRT light tunnel has a rigid light transmitting tube, made of aluminium and covered on its surface with a silver based and light reflective (in 98%) layer. The inside of the tube looks like before mirror. This type of light transmitting tube secures that daylight is conveyed in huge quantities inside the interior. The SRT light tunnel can be used in every kind of buildings, but because of its high effectiveness is recommended to be installed in special building where the daylight is transmitted into long distances e.g. 39' (12 m). The SRT light tunnel can be also used at nights thanks to the light installation kit which performs the function of the lamp.

Features:

  • light tunnel consists of the following parts: dome, riged light transmitting tube, elbow, prismatic and transparent diffuser and ceiling frame;

  • silver based and light reflective layer used to convey the light inside the building features the highest (98%) reflective coefficient;

  • angle adjustable elbow (element of the installation kit), gives a possibility to adjust the pitch of tube inclination (between 0 and 65 degrees) and helps to avoid construction obstacles during installation;

  • specially prepared flashings guarantee easy and water tight installation;

  • suitable for roofs with pitches between 15 and 60 degrees or for flat roof coverings (available to order);

  • there are three types of flashings available; for flat, profiled and high profiled roof coverings - must be ordered separately.

SLS flashing

 The SLS flashing is designed for use with roofing materials with a thickness of up to 10mm (2 layers, 5mm each, e.g. roofing paper, bituminous shingles and slate.

 SLZ flashing

The SLZ flashing intended for high profile roofing materials with a profile depth of up to 45mm, e.g. tiles, profiled sheet metal.

 SLH flashing

The SLH flashing for roofing materials with a profile depth of up to 90mm: tile, high profile sheet metal

 SFP insulated base and SLP flashing.

Light tunnels are often used on flat roofs. For their installation, use a special set consisting of two products: the insulated base SFP and flashing SLP.

 SFP base

The SFP base is made of galvanized sheet metal and insulated from the inside with polystyrene

SLO light kit

The SLO light kit is used as an alternative source of light in the room after dark. Installed inside the light tunnel.

The SLM extension kit for flexible reflective tubing

The kit consists of: connecting ring, 47" (120cm) section of reflective tube, installation tape. It is possible to order other lengths of reflective tubing which are multiples of 1' (30cm) e.g. 2' ,3' ,4' (60cm, 90cm, 150cm).

Extension element for SRM rigid tubing

Extension element for SRM rigid tubing, 24" (61cm) in length.

SRK elbow

  The SRK elbow changes the angle of reflective tubing within the range
 of 0 – 65°. For SRT 550 light tunnel, it is available as an option.

SLC suspender

The SLC suspender is used when the total length of flexible tubing is greater than
16 1/2' (5m). Using the suspenders is to take some weight of the tubing to prevent any possible separation from the light tunnel flashing.

SRC suspender

The SRC suspender is used when the total length of rigid tubing exceeds 13' (4m). It takes some weight of the tube.
